‘Janam Ashtami & Independence Day Celebrations at Everest Pb. Sr. Sec. School, Ludhiana (Affiliated to CBSE vide no 1631081)

The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated by the tiny tots of Everest Pb. Sr. Sec. School, Moti Nagar, Ludhiana with religious fervor in the premises of Everest Pb. Sr. Sec. School, Moti Nagar, Ludhiana on 14th august 2017. The Tiny-Tots dressed in gaudy dresses presented a charming show relating to the different aspects of the life of Lord Krishna. Children dressed as Radha & Krishan presenting ‘Ras Lila’ enamored everybody.
All kids pray to Lord Krishna. They cut a Cake and wished Happy Birthday to Lord Krishna. The whole school resounded with the sound of Hare Ramma, Hare Krishna.
Principal, Ms. Monica, encouraging the children told them about the ancient Indian Culture. She said that festival is celebrated on the eighth day Ashtami of the Krishan Paksha of the month of Bhadrapad in the Hindu calendar. Rasa lila, dramatic enactments of the life of Krishna, are a special feature in regions of Mathura and Brindavan
Sh. Rajinder Sharma, Director, Everest Group of Schools said that Hindus celebrate Janmashtami by fasting and staying up until midnight, the time when Krishna is believed to have been born. Images of Krishna’s infancy are placed in swings and cradles in temples and homes. At midnight, devotees gather around for devotional songs, dance and exchange gifts. Some temples also conduct readings of the Hindu religious scripture Bhagwad Gita. In the end sweets and fruits are distributed among the children.
The “Independence Day – 2017” was also celebrated by the students of Everest Pb. Sr. Sec. School, Moti Nagar, Ludhiana, on 14th August 2017. The Tiny Tots were well dressed up as freedom fighters. The children presented a colour full eye catching programme of song & dance. All the students were seen over joyed during the march past. They also raised the slogan of Independence Day.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Rajinder Sharma told the students about the importance of the day. He said that Independence Day is the great day for Indian people as India got freedom at this day from the British rule after years of slavery. They were also told about the various aspects of India & its cultural heritage.
Smt. Asha Sharma, Coordinator, IGNOU, NIOS & POS said that Independence Day is celebrated by the people of all religions, cultures and traditions with great joy and happiness. Independence Day in India is observed on 15th of August every year from 1947 as our country became independent on the same day from the power of British rule almost after 200 years of slavery. Smt. Asha Sharma also distributed Prizes and sweets among the tiny-tots.
